Integrated Forest Ecosystem Research (iFER)

Forest ecosystems provide a range of values including water security, carbon storage, maintaining biodiversity and habitat, and socio-economic uses. This research program, supported by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), aims to provide robust evidence for managing the impacts of fire, climate and management regimes on these multiple values.

Close working relations with DELWP mean that research findings can be efficiently and effectively incorporated into policy, planning and operations relating to the sustainable and integrated management of forest values for current and future generations.
